Julie Britton went into the Home Staging business when she realized all her work experience and hobbies came together in this one vision.

Even as a child in Knoxville, TN she would rearrange furniture to play “school,” or design sets for a kids’ neighborhood “show.” She learned to sew at the age of nine, and still makes window treatments, pillows and baby quilts.

Professionally, Julie had the opportunity to work for commercial and residential real estate firms in Atlanta, GA. As a Facilities Manager, she assisted clients with relocation plans, renovations and ongoing maintenance. This involved space planning, coordinating movers and other contractors to bring about the desired result. Later, as a Warranty Manager for a homebuilder, she learned that each home and each homeowner are distinctly different, but all deserve the same respect and quality customer service.

While living in Southern California from 2000 to 2004, Julie grabbed the opportunity to go “back to school” and attended Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach. One Saturday, there was a field trip to Los Angeles to meet set designers and see their sets (such as That 70’s Show, Two and a Half Men and Will & Grace). It was then that the home staging bug first bit! Though they are not quite the same thing, home staging is a type of “set design”, and had been done in the California real estate market for years.

Upon moving back to the southeast, and settling in Charlotte, NC where she and her husband originally met, Julie decided to get her real estate license, as she had in Atlanta. She became a broker in addition to managing Carolina Home Staging, Inc., but has since decided to focus all her time and energy to home staging.  She affirms there is no doubt the real estate knowledge is hugely beneficial to her clients, and she still trains new agents on “Staging Your Listing to Sell”.

Julie lives in Charlotte, NC with husband Larry, their pug Scooter and Lucy the cat. She is mother to two grown children, daughter Anna and son William. Julie enjoys golfing occasionally, belongs to the Charlotte Charity League, eWomen Network and volunteers at Theatre Charlotte as Prop Master.
